MasterChef fans accuse the show’s contestants of CHEATING during the blindfolded tasting challenge

Sunday’s episode of MasterChef saw the show’s remaining contestants participate in a blindfolded tasting challenge.

But the innovative challenge left many of the show’s viewers unconvinced that they were unable to see.

Many fans singled out contestant Poh Ling Yeow, arguing that the 47-year-old’s blindfold appeared to be ill-fitting.

‘When Poh was tasting the Persimmon she put her hand up to her eye/blindfold which was already fitting quite poorly, and I swear she could see under it… did anyone else notice this?’ asked one viewer on a Facebook fan page.

Plenty of others commented with their opinions on the supposed incident, with many claiming they agreed but were too afraid of the backlash to say anything.

‘I did and commented that yesterday and got the Poh hater post,’ wrote one person, while another commented, ‘I agree. I’m glad you were brave enough to post it. I sure wasn’t.’

Added another viewer: ‘Yes I noticed that her blindfold did not come down as far as all the others & said when she put her hand to her face that she moved it.

‘Did not post tho cos I though I would get slaughtered – must add I am not a Poh hater nor do I believe there is any favouritism – but to me it was quite obvious.’

One fan went so far as to say ‘she cheated’, while another person commented, ‘Hubby picked up on that and wondered if she could see or not.’

'It looked like there was a lining under the eye mask, you can see that with some of the contestants, so I reckon she could not see...' commented one fan

But there were plenty of viewers who jumped to Poh’s defence, calling the accusations ‘ridiculous’ and ‘rubbish’.

‘I would not think the worst of a person that way. We all use hand gestures when thinking,’ commented one viewer.

After the contestants pulled on their blindfolds, judge Jock Zonfrillo warned them: ‘No peeking. I’m going to trust you all.’

The contestants who didn’t guess correctly were then put into a cooking challenge, which resulted in fan favourite Brendan Pang being eliminated.
