‘With broken hearts, we had to stay goodbye’: Lisa Wilkinson breaks down as her son Louis’ long-time British partner is forced to leave Australia due to COVID-19 related visa issues

Lisa Wilkinson has revealed her devastating heartbreak after her family were forced to bid farewell to her son Louis’ long-time British partner, Kia Rosina.

Sharing an emotional post to her Instagram last week, Lisa, 60, explained that COVID-19 destroyed Kia’s sponsorship with her employer.

‘Last night, with breaking hearts, and because that rotten COVID got in the way, we had to say goodbye as she headed back to her other home,’ Lisa began.

‘Travel safe and thank you for all you’ve taught us about the simple joys, finding the light, acceptance, and squeezing the last drop out of every day.’

And it appears the feelings were reciprocal for Kia, who met Louis, 24, during the Wilkinson-FitzSimons’ family trip to the United Kingdom in 2017.

Sharing a loved-up photo with Louis to her own Instagram page, Kia said she was ‘devastated’ about having to leave her ‘adopted’ family.

‘Absolutely heartbroken about having to leave because it wasn’t just leaving the country behind, but amazing friends, and my second family,’ she wrote.

She went on to say that she enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle she wouldn’t have ever imagined back home.

Since relocating to Australia in January 2018, Kia worked at the Boathouse Balmoral before landing a job at leading PR firm Tailor Maid Communications.
