Kristin Cavallari posts sweet Father’s Day message but doesn’t mention Jay Cutler amid divorce

As their divorce drama continues to unfold, Kristin Cavallari is trying to focus on the positive.

The former reality star, 33, posted a sweet pair of throwback snaps of herself sitting on the lap of her father Dennis on the occasion of Father’s Day on Sunday.

Not present was any mention of Kristin’s estranged husband Jay Cutler, 37, who is father to her three children: sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt, seven and six respectively, and daughter Saylor James, four.

‘Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I’m lucky to have you,’ the Very Cavallari star wrote in the caption next to the shot of her holding the pictures with her dad.

‘Thanks for teaching me that I can do whatever I want in this life. You create your own destiny,’ she added, before concluding with a raised hands emoji and ‘love you.’

The post comes as Kristin recently completed her move out of the home she shared with football star Cutler, and also made the return to work at her office for Uncommon James.

Kristin’s omission of Jay on social media for Father’s Day is especially significant, considering that just last month Jay did mention her in a Mother’s Day post on his own Instagram.

Next to a picture showing Kristin and the kids on the beach from behind, the caption read, ‘Happy Mother’s day to all the moms. These 3 little ones picked a good one.’

However, it wasn’t immediately clear whether Jay was in fact the one who posted the message.

While at first it appeared like a civil gesture toward his ex, his fans were quick to note that the retired football player doesn’t actually run the account, which actually has the handle: ‘IfJayHadInstagram’.

Kristin admitted in 2018 via a comment that she was behind the account, telling everyone: ‘…I think there needs to be a little clarification on Jay’s Instagram.’

‘It’s not him running it. It’s me. It’s what Jay would have if he had Instagram,’ the mother-of-three said at the time.

Fans found it odd that Kristin would continue to pretend to be her ex to pay tribute to herself on social media – weeks after their split went public.

However, Jay’s Instagram bio now reads ‘I don’t have Instagram, but if I did… and now I do.’

And it indeed seems that Jay now runs the account, judging from more recent photos from his recent hunting trip in Montana.

Kristin and Jay were married for seven years before their split.

Last month, they reached a temporary custody agreement, agreeing to split their time 50/50.

But Jay is looking for long-term custody of the children, according to divorce filings.

The Very Cavallari star was ‘blindsided’ when the retired Chicago Bears quarterback filed for divorce in late April, after he and the Uncommon James founder had reportedly been working toward an amicable split.

Another source told E! News: ‘She had hoped they could work things out more amicably and they were off to a good start before Jay pulled the trigger.’
