Hayden Quinn delivers a heartfelt tribute to ‘nicest person on the show’ Brendan Pang after his emotional eviction from MasterChef

Brendan Pang’s eviction from MasterChef on Sunday night left fans of the Channel Ten ratings juggernaut gutted.

After the credits rolled, it was clear Brendan, 27, had found a firm friend in returning Back to Win favourite Hayden Quinn, who had earlier been eliminated from the competition.

The chef, who hails from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, shared a touching tribute to Brendan after his moving eviction on Instagram.

‘If there was an award for the nicest person in MasterChef you would have won that in the first week,’ Hayden, 34, began.

‘Thank you for being such an incredible, humble and sneakily funny person.’

Hayden went on to thank Brendan for ‘putting up with Reece Hignell’, his best mate on the show, and for spending countless nights ‘chilling and watching survivor’ with him.

‘I miss ya mate and I wish Perth was closer!’ Hayden closed the tribute.

Proving what a top guy he is, Hayden then urged fans of the show to support Brendan ‘if they can’ and go out and buy his cookbook, curiously titled This is a Book About Dumplings.

On Sunday night, Brendan was eliminated after his lobster noodles with a seafood broth failed to tantalise the taste buds of judges Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo after it was deemed ‘too umami’.

Upon hearing the news, Brendan was visibly upset and struggled to hold back his tears.

And he wasn’t the only one, as fans across Australia shared their collective grief on social media.
