He added that he never tried to ‘hide’ his relationship while in the Big Brother house, but rather ‘it just didn’t make the edits for a few of the episodes.’

He added that during his time on the show, he missed his family and friends on the outside, but the friendly cast made it bearable.

‘Being in the house with such a good group of people definitely made it a lot easier,’ Ian said.

He added that he didn’t tell his friends that he was going on Big Brother, and left it as a ‘surprise’ for them so they’d just randomly see him on TV.

‘I made up this story I was going to Queensland on a fossil dig and everybody ate it up,’ he said with a laugh.

Ian was booted off the show on Sunday and even got teary as he left the house.

He told Daily Mail Australia that he was ‘devastated’ and was ‘blindsided’ with his eviction.

‘I was a bit devastated, but who wouldn’t be,’ Ian said.

‘Looking back on it, I had the best time in there and I have no regrets. I definitely got blindsided. Most of my alliance, none of my alliance saw that coming.’
