Californians are now required to wear face masks in public amid the coronavirus pandemic.

And Vanessa Hudgens is the latest star to make her mask a fashion statement, as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Friday.

The 31-year-old High School Musical alum donned a maroon and gold print shirt dress with a matching face mask while out grabbing snacks.

The actress and singer 5’1 star added inches to her height as she teamed the dress with camel and cream colored platform heels.

She also added a pair of black spandex shorts under her dress to keep her covered in the ultra short dress, in the style of a button-up shirt.

Looking her typical boho chic, she teamed the look with black shoulder bag and rose colored sunglasses.

Vanessa tied her brunette locks back with a clip and left pieces framing her face as she stopped by Blue Bottle Coffee.

As, Los Angeles has begun to slowly re-open various parts of the city and economy after being shut down due to COVID-19, she has been spotted hitting the gym and going out to eat with her mom.

Her outing comes three months after she made a particularly cavalier video questioning social distancing and shutting down all non-essential services through the summer on an Instagram Live.

‘Um, yeah, till July sounds like a bunch of bull****, I’m sorry,’ she said. ‘It’s a virus, I get it, I respect it, but at the same time, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible, but like … inevitable? I dunno, maybe I shouldn’t be doing this right now.’

After she was slammed by a number of fans and fellow celebs, Vanessa sought to quell the controversy with a series of clips in which she walked back the divisive comments.

Shortly thereafter, Hudgens said in a follow up-clip: ‘Some of my comments are being taken out of context. It’s a crazy time. I’m at home in lockdown, and that’s what I hope you guys are doing too. In full quarantine. And staying safe and sane. I don’t take this situation lightly by any means. I am home. So stay inside, y’all.’

She also posted a quote to say she’s come around and understands the massive impact of COVID-19.

‘I’m so sorry for the way i have offended anyone and everyone… I realize my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now,’ the Powerless star said. ‘This has been a huge wake up call about the significance my words have.’
