RHONY: Luann de Lesseps lists $1m New York home for sale

Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps is listing her ‘Mad Men-inspired’ property in Port Ewen, Upstate New York, for $1.15 million.

The 55-year-old reality star revealed to PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday her reasons for selling the home, which features a ’60s-style architectural design as well as some mid-century furniture.

‘I’m actually quite sad to be selling this home because it’s a very special place for me,’ de Lesseps said. ‘I love spending time Upstate due to its privacy, beautiful lakes and hiking.’

The 2,400-square-foot home was built back in 1966 and features 200 feet on the river, a private deck and a dock for kayaking or motorboats.

‘It’s one of the few places where I always felt I could unwind when I wasn’t filming or out on the road with my cabaret tour, and the views of the Hudson River are truly stunning,’ de Lesseps adds.

‘I know I will miss sitting on the deck and watching the ships sail by as they head down to the city.’

However, de Lesseps reveals she’s decided to sell up because she barely visits the property, and has most recently been spending all her time at her Sag Harbor residence in the Hamptons.

The listing for the property describes it as having sweeping views of the River, ‘seventeen miles in each direction and across to the banks of Rhinebeck.’

The turn-key home is said to have a ‘Mad Men-inspired’ feel to it in the listing, as it features circular, modern architecture, and has an open floor plan which takes advantage of the panoramic Hudson River views.

Last year, de Lesseps revealed how she tried to borrow $6 million from Dennis Shields, Bethenny Frankel’s late ex-boyfriend who died of a suspected drug overdose.

The reality star was desperate to buy a $6 million, 8,000 square feet mega-mansion in upstate New York.

‘I was fixed on it. I had to have it, I was manic,’ de Lesseps explained in an episode of RHONY that aired last year.

‘Believe me, I called everybody I knew for $6 million. There weren’t many on the list, and Dennis was one of them.’

‘I wanted that house more than anything,’ she added. ‘I would have sold my soul at that point. That’s how bad it was.’

de Lesseps put her property on the market five days ago.
