SAG-AFTRA issues ‘do not work’ order for Scott Baio’s upcoming film Courting Mom & Dad

SAG-AFTRA has issued a ‘do not work’ order for the upcoming film Courting Mom & Dad, starring Scott Baio and Kristy Swanson on Monday. 

The labor union stepped in to accuse the production company of failing to ‘comply with LA County Health Orders and SAG-AFTRA protocols in connection with COVID-19‘ as well as ‘California regulations related to minor performers,’ according to a statement obtained by Deadline.  

The notice requires that all SAG-AFTRA members withhold any services and no longer accept any employment from the production, until further notice.   

‘Please note, accepting employment or rendering services on Courting Mom & Dad, may be considered a violation of Global Rule One,’ the statement read, adding violations ‘may result in disciplinary action.’ 

The film, from Revenge Movies LLC, centers around three children who ‘seek the help of an eccentric personal injury attorney in order to stop their parents’ imminent divorce,’ according to IMBD.  

Child actors Everson White, Bailey Baio and Ryan Florida portray Baio and Swanson’s kids in the halted movie. 

‘The Unions and Guilds quickly determined that a comprehensive, mandatory testing regimen would need to be the cornerstone of a safe return,’ the site detailed, explaining that ‘every member of the cast and crew be tested for active COVID-19 infection before their first day of work.’ 

Late last month, Baio was called out by Wanda Sykes after he called her a ‘hack liberal’ for supporting Joe Biden. 

‘I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you do,’ the 56-year-old Emmy winning TV writer clapped back to the Republican actor.  

Scott’s original Tweet read, ‘Hey @iamwandasykes why is it okay for @JoeBiden to say something clearly racist but @therealroseanne gets kicked off of her own show that YOU are a writer on, for making a mistake?’

‘Is it because you’re a full of s**t, hack liberal?’ he concluded.

Baio was referring to Biden’s recent comment in which the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee told Charlamagne tha God anyone on the fence about voting for him or Donald Trump ‘ain’t black’.
