The couple first credited their relationship’s longevity by choosing to ‘slow it down,’ after leaving the Spanish villa together in Majorca.

‘I feel like when we left the villa, we just slowed it down… It’s just a fast-paced, crazy environment,’ Josh said.

‘When we came out it was just such a crazy environment… We had never actually been on a proper date without cameras in our faces.’

Josh said on their first date out of the villa, the pair were looking around instinctively for cameras that were no longer there.

Amelia admitted the pair took it slow: ‘I think we have just taken it a bit slower than maybe some other couples. Because when you’re in there everything is happening on heat. It’s quite quick.’

‘We just took it a bit more slow, more realistic.’

Despite being together for almost two years, Josh ruled out a chance of an engagement to his ladylove in the near future.

The couple said they have chosen to watch the series together for the first time alongside new UK viewers, where the show is a massive hit.

‘We have to live it all again. I haven’t actually watched the show back, so I might watch it in real time,’ Josh said.

Amelia said she was worried the Australian version might be ‘too boring’ for the UK to watch, based on their own seasons of the dating series.

‘I feel like we aren’t as crazy as the UK season,’ she said.

‘They are cheating. Everyone is going on. I think we’re a bit more boring.’
