Helen Hunt, 56, rocks a wet-suit to catch some waves during morning surf in Malibu

She’s been keeping very fit and healthy throughout lockdown. 

And now that beaches have been reopened, Helen Hunt took full advantage of it on Saturday, when she stepped out for a swim in Malibu.

The 56-year-old was spotted with a body-board and appeared in high spirits during the solo outing. 

Helen was dressed like a surfing professional in her full-body wet-suit. 

She connected the board to her wrist and appeared to be makeup free for the dip in the ocean. 

The Mad About You actress’ appearance comes after she dished about her health and fitness regime in 2015, confessing she doesn’t go to the gym. 

‘I used to diet but sometime after the eighties, it made me miserable, but I do like to walk, run, and I do like to surf when I can just to warm it up, and I do enjoy doing yoga when I can get there,’ she told Healthy Living magazine.  

She continued; ‘It’s a religion for me to never diet. I think it makes you unhappy.’ 

‘It makes for unhappy things, so I just decided I would rather not have the perfect body, not have the body I want than diet. And when I dropped the idea of dieting, my body went closer to the way that I was wanting it to be. So for me, it’s never worked.’ 

Helen has been quarantining with her daughter, Makena Lei Gordon Carnahan, 16, who she recently praised for maintaining ‘resilience (even in a f*ing pandemic)’ on Instagram last month. 

She welcomed Makena with her ex boyfriend, Matthew Carnahan.

‘It’s just my favorite thing to do…looking at this face,’ she captioned a sweet birthday tribute of herself looking into Makena’s eyes. 

In addition, she gushed about her teen’s kindness, curiosity, humor and ’empathy as it relates to injustice.’

She added: ‘Happy Birthday my darling. I’m the luckiest mother in the world.’
