Cassie pens an emotional post in honor of her ‘Pop’ after passing: ‘I wish I could hug you ‘

Celebrities and fans are sending their condolences to Cassie after she posted an emotional tribute for her grandfather after his recent death. 

Sharing a smiling throwback photo with the man she called ‘Pop,’ the singer took to Instagram to send love to her family. 

‘I wish I could hug you,’ she wrote.  ‘I miss and love you, Pop.’

Cassie (born Casandra Ventura) went on to send love to her family.  

‘I pray that you can feel my heart,’ she continued. ‘Sending all of my love to Nana and my entire family. I wish I could be with you guys right now. I love you.’ 

Her husband Alex Fine, with whom she shares six-month-old daughter Frankie, commented ‘Such a great man.’

Though she did not elaborate on what happened many offered support in the comments after her loss.  

Model and Nazanin Mandi, who is married to Miguel, commented ‘Sending love & prayers babe.’ 

Cassie and Fine got together in late 2018 following the end of her decade-long relationship with rap mogul Diddy.

They announced they were expecting a baby together in June 2019 and tied the knot at the end of August.

Their little bundle of joy arrived on December 6.

Speaking to HATCH last fall ahead of her daughter’s birth, Cassie has made it clear she wants to juggle motherhood with her career. 

‘I don’t want to lose myself in becoming a mom,’ she explained. 

‘Of course, I will do anything for her, but I also want to remain true to myself. I want her to grow up watching me do my thing, she went on. ‘I want her to see me making music, building my business, being a mom, a wife, a force, and be inspired by it all.’
