She works hard in the gym to retain her looks. But Kirsty Gallacher has admitted she may yet resort to cosmetic surgery as the thought of getting older ‘petrifies’ her.

‘I think, “Oh my gosh, I’m 44, how did that happen?” ’ the TV sports presenter tells me.

‘The ageing thing is petrifying. The idea of surgery or injections doesn’t thrill me but I wouldn’t say never. I’ve steered clear so far, but I’m not averse.’

The chef himself is, of course, still worth an estimated £100 million thanks to his lucrative TV and cookbook deals.

The slimmed-down TV host, 55, has been sharing daily workouts from his garden in Kent, and now he and personal trainer pal Danny Rai are planning fitness videos and recipe books so fans can share Gregg’s weight-loss journey.

He’s lost four stone – and at just under 12st is going to need a smaller spoon when MasterChef returns…
