‘Well then. As suspected, I’m a little disappointed the show’s original format has changed SO much BUT it’s early days,’ Tully said.

‘I’m sure they’ll all grow on us over time… happy to have the big guy back on our screens regardless.’

She also retweeted a fan post about Big Brother which read: ‘What I think BB is lacking: 1. Real time filming. 2. Audience participation. 3. The voyeuristic feel of watching people just living their daily lives!’

Tully also tweeted that she doesn’t think that evictions are evictions without a live audience, said that deciding the weekly grocery shopping list in the house was the ‘worst activity of the week’ and said she thought the bedroom in the new house is ‘tiny.’

She also added about the housemates: ‘Guys… were we THIS annoying on night one? Because f**k me….’

During Tully’s time on the show in 2013, she became embroiled in an affair scandal.

Speaking to Woman’s Day on Monday, the 54-year-old host said that viewing habits had changed since the show debuted in 2001 and the rules had to be updated.

‘When Big Brother first started 20 years ago, people were still fascinated with housemates in the kitchen making a sandwich,’ Sonia explained.

‘But our viewing habits have changed and we’ve put so much into every episode that you’ll get more out of it as a viewer,’ she added.

The original Big Brother premiered on Channel 10 in April 2001.

Seven’s revamped version debuted on Monday after a five-year hiatus (it last aired on Nine in 2014) and Big Brother set the housemates a gravity-defying challenge.
