Cardi B embraces her natural ‘hair texture’ on Instagram: ‘This is really how my hair is’

Cardi B is notorious for rocking dramatic, colorful wigs on the red carpet and on stage.

But the 27-year-old rap sensation embraced her natural hair texture on Monday, when she took to Instagram to share an at-home hair remedy with her 67million followers.

‘Ok guys, so this is really how my hair is. This is my hair texture,’ began Cardi proudly.

The Press rapper showed off her assets in a white, triangle bikini and looked visibly makeup-free in the series of clips shared to her Instagram Story. 

Her brunette hair was parted to the side and flowed down past her chest.

She continued: ‘My hair gets like this when you blow dry it and then two days later it looks puff puff like this. Even when you braid it.’

Though Cardi described her own hair as ‘not curly, she explained that her daughter Kulture, one, ‘has curls and little coils too.’ 

‘[My hair is] just straight like this,’ said Cardi, while puling at her lengthy strands.

Prior to appearing on camera, the Grammy Award winner provided step-by-step instructions on how to concoct her go-to hair mask at home.

With a mixing spoon and a small bowl, Cardi combined fresh avocados, avocado oil, argan oil, and mayonnaise to craft the natural hair remedy.

‘All the good things that you put in your body, you gotta put in your hair. You’re not gonna put soda in your hair because soda ain’t good for your body,’ she explained. 

She also posted footage of Kulture having the mask applied to her head full of curls.  

After applying the mask to her daughter, Cardi then returned to Instagram to show how she applies the mask to her own strands and how long she leaves it in.

To show just how dramatically the mask has affected her hair growth, Cardi shared a string of throwback clips and pics from her days with shorter hair.

She also included a photo of herself from childhood that became a meme last year, due to Cardi’s hilarious facial expression and pose. 

One black-and-white throwback video, showed the rapper calling out people for referring to her hair as ‘f**ked up.’ 

‘This ain’t f**ked up here, ya know? This is natural. Natural, strong hair,’ said Cardi to the camera.

One video showed her whipping her hair back-and-forth, while dancing to one of her favorite tracks.   

Another pictured showed Cardi smiling, as she laid on the floor with her hair sprawled out behind her. 

Hours later, Cardi returned to Instagram to give her fans an update on how smooth the mask made her hair. 

‘The end results of all that sh*t I put on my hair earlier. Treat your hair ladies …and don’t let a ni**a tell you sh*t bout wearing wigs. It helps with hair growth ALOT,’ she wrote.

For the mini ‘after’ photoshoot, Cardi sported a sea foam green tube top and a pair of mini shorts.  

Cardi B is married to fellow rap artist Offset and they share one-year-old Kulture. 

The happy trio have been quarantining in their lavish home in Atlanta, Georgia amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
