She wrote: ‘I am slowlyyyy losing weight and ever so slowly starting to feel a bit stronger.

‘But I have personally found it so much harder than I ever imagined to shift weight post baby. So this is happy picture for me – itty bitty abs again yayyy.

‘Listen wherever your are at in your journey it’s god damn inevitable to compare yourself with others …Jeeez I know I have !

‘I have a right heart twitch when I’ve seen other girls that have had there babies months after me only ‘bounce’ back as if the whole thing never happened ..and I probably have been guilty of only posting things on this page that makes it seem like that’s been me!…

‘But as much as I wish I was a #postnatal unicorn alas it’s taking time. The reality is the there been a lot of changes for me , and adjustments to make.

The star continued: ‘My skin is different , I’m 10kg heavier than I have ever been ,I still can’t fit into my pre baby clothes , I popped the zip on my favourite jeans  and I have a small gap #diastasisrecti which had meant I’ve had to overhaul everything I thought I knew about getting into shape!

‘But you know something , I’m totally comfortable with it, I’m doing this the healthy slow way & giving myself time.

‘Finally I’m learning to understand my body, what it needs , why I’m motivated one week and then suddenly just wanting tea and chocolate digestives the next… it has so much to do with our cycles. I had no idea.’

‘Those lines weren’t there a month ago! The second picture is me working for those abs because it ain’t bl***y easy and hasn’t just happened and the third and fourth picture is why actually it doesn’t matter if my abs never quite go back… although I really doooo want to fit into my jeans again #selflove.’

In light of Caesarean Awareness Month in April, Amy shared a candid post on Instagram as she called on women to support each other and not worry about the method in which they gave birth.

She shared a picture of her caesarean scar as well as an adorable snap of the moment she welcomed Demelza alongside a lengthy caption.

She penned: ‘I don’t think anyone can prepare you for the mental, physical , emotional journey motherhood through any form of birth takes you on… truth be told, despite being unplanned, I loved my caesarean…

‘After 3 days of non progressive but aggressive labour that spinal block was my dear glorious friend and my baby girl arrived safely so I have nothing but praise for this procedure. [sic]’

Despite insisting she has no regrets about undergoing the procedure, Amy revealed she would not choose to have another caesarean, as she struggled in the aftermath.

Amy continued: ‘Do I want another one – No I don’t. For me the hardest past was afterwards … dealing with the guilt, the recovery, worrying I hadn’t bonded with her, worrying I had given up too soon during labour?

‘What if? Unfortunately as amazing as our minds are … they are sometimes our WORST ENEMY.

‘I think we have all spent many hours worrying about things that simply aren’t true or don’t actually matter.. But it doesn’t stop us from doing it.

‘As time has progressed I’ve been able to love my Demy scar and #markofmotherhood and EVENTUALLY acknowledge that I’m a bad**s mother even if I didn’t physically push her out. [sic]’

Explaining that she now knows that her decision was the right one, Amy continued: ‘As she grows and smiles and grabs at me … I know in my heart we have a beautiful bond that is not affected in anyway by the way she was born.

‘I did so many birthing classes before I had my baby, that I think it was in my head that a natural birth was ‘best’ way, the truth is there is no best way, there is only what way YOU as a woman feel safe, and wherever or whatever that is … home , theatre , birth centre, labour ward… that’s where you should be.

‘I think the main thing with #caesareanbirth is protecting the mothers feelings about the birth , letting her know she is enough.

‘Letting her know there is no failure and your baby will be proud of you because you brought them into this world , you grew them, you nourished them and you fought for their place in the world whether they entered it through the sunroof or not.

‘I was born by caesarean so it’s all I knew in regards to birth growing up… & since Dem I have loved learning about birth and being inspired by its strength, love and courage. [sic]’
