Last minute jitters? Sonia Kruger looks nervous as she is spotted hours ahead of Big Brother launch – after Channel Seven predicted the show won’t be a ratings success

In just a few hours, Sonia Kruger will return to screens as she hosts Big Brother Australia’s 2020 season premiere.

And the 54-year-old was spotted looking rather nervous on Monday morning, as she geared up for her first major role at Channel Seven since being poached from Nine last year.

Flanked by a female assistant, Sonia appeared flustered as she climbed out of a parked car near the Big Brother house in Manly’s North Head, Sydney.

The bronzed blonde was dressed to the nines in an electric blue jumpsuit layered beneath a navy duster coat.

She wore her shoulder-length hair out in loose waves, and defined her eyes with a generous amount of black kohl liner.

Sonia carried her mobile phone and a set of car-keys in one hand, while her assistant was loaded up with a shopping bag filled with clothing, a pair of silver high heels and a bag of makeup.

After Sonia noticed the photographers, she managed a strained smile.

It comes after The Australian reported that, despite the huge buzz surrounding the Big Brother reboot, Seven apparently predicted in May that the show would fail to attract the ‘golden figure’ of a million metro viewers.

According to the publication, presentations made by Seven’s advertising team estimated ratings below the 1,000,000 mark for the entire season.

The newspaper also claimed that Seven’s advertising staff had predicted similar numbers for cooking show Plate of Origin and the return of Farmer Wants a Wife.

Several entertainment shows on rival networks, including Married At First Sight, The Voice and MasterChef, have reached the ‘magic million’ so far this year.
