Amy Schumer, Laura Dern and Julianne Moore pose in orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Amy Schumer posted a flashback family photo to her Instagram account in which she cradles newborn son Gene in her arms. The 38-year-old’s husband, chef and farmer Chris Fischer, held the actress’ tiny black dog Tati.

The image was to remind the I Feel Pretty actress’ followers about National Gun Awareness Day which fell on Friday.

Other stars who took to social media in orange were Laura Dern, Julianne Moore and Clark Gregg.

Amy’s photo was darling. Both lovebirds were decked out in bright safety orange, with Schumer choosing an embroidered frock and Fischer going for a matching windbreaker.

‘Throw back photo for Today, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, I #WearOrange to bring attention to the deadly intersection of racism, white supremacy, and gun violence in America, where Black people are 10x more likely to die by gun homicide than white people. @everytown @momsdemand,’ said the star.

The comedienne began to speak out against gun violence after two women – Mayci Breaux, 21, and Jillian Johnson, 33 – were fatally shot at a screening of her film Trainwreck in 2015.

She looked back on the moment she got the news in a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair.

Big little TRUTH: Dern was in her backyard. 'Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day. I #wearorange for Ahmaud, Breonna, Hadiya, and all the countless lives ended senselessly, needlessly by gun violence. Black Americans are 10x more likely to die by gun homicide than white Americans. We can make change. We must'

‘It really … I don’t know. It’s like when the shooting happened, and in Paris,’ she said.

‘The idea of people trying to go out and have a good time—you know, like looking forward to it?—I don’t know why that makes me the saddest,’ she added.

‘So my publicist told me. And then I put on the news. I was by myself in a hotel, and I was just like, I wish I never wrote that movie,’ Schumer added.

Her cousin, Senator Chuck Schumer, would soon intervene.

‘I got a call, and he was like, “Amy, this is your cousin Chuck,”‘ she said. ‘And I said, “I hope this is you asking me to help with guns.” He laughed. “Yeah, that’s what this is.” I was like, “Let’s go. Let’s do it,”‘ Amy continued.

In response, Amy and Chuck launched a campaign called Aiming for Change.

The campaign aims to bring strength to legislation Chuck has brought to the table that would put a stop to background-check loopholes for gun buyers and end ‘straw purchases by middlemen,’ according to Vanity Fair.

Chuck spoke to Vanity Fair about his cousin’s acumen for activism.

Another throwback: Clark Gregg said: 'Throwback photo because once again today we #wearorange to stand up for common sense gun laws and because black people are 10 times more likely to die by gun homicide. @everytown @momsdemand'
