MasterChef’s Khanh Ong releasing tell-all cookbook

He’s one of the most popular contestants from the current all-stars season of MasterChef Australia.

So it’s no surprise that Khanh Ong is planning to cash in on his fame by releasing a cookbook this year.

However, in addition to featuring delicious recipes, the book will also contain personal stories about the 28-year-old’s dating life and cheating exes.

‘There’s stories in there about ex-boyfriends and being cheated on and those are obviously coming from hurtful places,’ he told New Idea this week.

The young chef also admitted that he ‘might get a few angry emails or texts’ from his exes once the book drops.

He will release A Gay Guy’s Guide to Life Love Food: Outrageously Delicious Recipes (plus Stories and Dating Advice) from a Food-Obsessed Gay in July.

Khanh first appeared on season 10 of MasterChef Australia in 2018 and is now trying his luck on the Back to Win series. 

Speaking to 10 Daily last month, he said he wasn’t holding back this season nor was he afraid to be ‘sassy’ with the other contestants.

‘Obviously I’ve always been very comfortable with myself, but when it’s your first time on TV, I was kind of like, “Okay, you’re gay but you’re not G-A-Y,” Khanh said of his initial appearance on the show.  

He said he wanted to ‘stay a little quiet’ the first time around, but now had complete confidence in himself. 

‘I can be as sassy as I want to be and show my personality,’ he said. 

That newfound confidence also extends to his fashion sense.

Khanh recently wore a ‘harness’ in one episode and admitted he didn’t think he’d be allowed to wear it on national television, but wanted to ‘push’ the boundaries.
