  • Luxury sports car caught on fire in Polegate, East Sussex, last night around 7pm
  • It is not known if driver, who was taken to hospital, had life-threatening injuries

An Aston Martin DB9 supercar worth £75,000 was destroyed after bursting into flames last night in a horror crash.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to Jevington Road in Polegate, East Sussex, around 7pm yesterday evening.

The driver was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.

It is not known whether the driver suffered any life-threatening injuries.

Pictures show crew dousing the flames with a fire engine and police vehicles at the scene.

Witnesses told Hailsham News the car could have been part of a convoy travelling to the hospital for the weekly Clap for Carers at 8pm.
