Working up a sweat! Casey Donovan goes for a jog in black leggings and a matching tank top and sports bra on Sydney’s Bondi Beach

She entertained audiences at a free drive-in concert last week.

But on Thursday, Casey Donovan was spotted working up a sweat as she jogged along Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

The 32-year-old was dressed for a workout in an all-black ensemble – a black tank top, sports bra, and cropped leggings and light grey trainers.

The former Australian Idol winner also wore her trademark curly locks out and had on a pair of sunglasses.

She also had headphones on and appeared to be focused on her exercise.

Last year, Casey spoke to the Sydney Morning Herald about her struggles with her weight and her body.

‘I came from a very sporty background when I was a kid. I hit high school, fell out of sport and moved into music, then life got a hold of me. And here I am with my body,’ she said.

‘I hated my body as a child. In my early teens, it got to the point where I wouldn’t show my body to anyone. Of all of my friends, I was always the bigger one. I couldn’t just walk into a shop; I had to go to “the fat people shop”.’

Casey, who also lost 17kg after her stint on I’m A Celebrity in 2017, said it took her several years to overcome this stigma and that she now works hard to keep off the kilos and to stay happy and healthy.

‘I go to the gym three to five times a week and work out with a trainer. Most people can’t do that,’ she said.

Casey’s beachside workout comes after she performed a free concert at a drive-in theatre in Tempe last week to show how live music can be enjoyed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Casey told to The Morning Show hosts Kylie Gilllies and Larry Emdur that her show was the first in a wide range of performances that would take place across New South Wales and Victoria.

‘It’s not just bands, it’ll be theatre, comedy, a whole array of live performances,’ she explained.
