Roxy Jacenko publicly blasts a former client who avoided making payments for MONTHS

‘They have started paying now’: Roxy Jacenko leaks emails and publicly rips into a former client who avoided making payments for MONTHS

PR queen Roxy Jacenko was forced to let four staff members go from her Sweaty Betty agency after the business lost 85 per cent of its clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

And this week, the Sydney-based businesswoman blasted a former client for avoiding timely payments for her services.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Roxy slammed the inner-Sydney salon publicly with a photo of their store front.

Roxy told B&T on Wednesday that the payments were due in December, long before the coronavirus pandemic hit.

The mother-of-two was shocked to find her former client – a salon who can’t be named for legal reasons – had closed for renovations.

She shared a sign from the store that read: ‘We’re having a facelift, see you post COVID in July.’

The Sweaty Betty founder captioned the upload: ‘Remarkable, can afford a facelift but can’t afford to pay what you owe.’

Roxy leaked private emails with the former client to News.com.au on Wednesday that showed her efforts to pursue the salon for payment.

The exchange showed Roxy chasing the money for months, before threatening legal action in February – two months after payment was originally due.

‘Silly me didn’t ask for payment upfront,’ Roxy said, adding she didn’t do so because she had a personal relationship with the owner.

However, the public blasting appeared to work for Roxy, as she told B&T the former client said they were going to pay her immediately to remedy the situation.

‘My clients have been all really good, and if they can’t pay we have worked with them to set up a plan which works for both parties,’ she said of cashflow being low amid COVID-19 lockdowns and temporarily business closures.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Roxy said: ‘They have started paying after yesterday now.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the business for comment.

Roxy revealed her once-lucrative PR enterprise had taken a significant economic hit due to COVID-19 in April, having lost 85 per cent of her clients in three days.

‘I think it was pure shock watching something you started from nothing crumble in 72 hours,’ she said of Sweaty Betty PR’s dramatic downfall at the time.

She told Daily Mail Australia that she was working ‘with a very reduced number of clients’ from home after letting four staff members go.
