‘You’re going to make me cry!’ Chef George Calombaris is left stunned as couple get ENGAGED live on his Instagram cooking show
George Calombaris popped onto his Instagram Live on Saturday night to share a butter chicken recipe.
But the chef got more than he bargained for when a couple he invited onto the video feed became engaged during the segment.
The 41-year-old crossed from his own kitchen to that of two fans, Jake and Emma, and asked them to show off the dish they had been cooking live along with him.

After displaying his butter chicken, Jake opened another saucepan to show George and Emma something he had been ‘cooking up a while’.
When the lid came off, inside was a box holding a sparkling diamond ring, which Jake presented to a shocked Emma.
George was beside himself, becoming emotional as Emma accepted the proposal and kissed her new fiancé.

‘I would have never thought in my lifetime on my Instagram live I’d get a marriage proposal,’ the emotional chef said.
‘In a world that we live in right now you should be commended my friend because you’ve got the balls to go, ‘life is too short’ and you love that beautiful human next to you,’ he added.
As the loved-up couple embraced, George continued: ‘I wish the two of you so much joy, happiness, great food, everything.

He added: ‘I need to get off the phone right now because you’re going to make me cry!’

George has been hosting his live cooking program from his Instagram since March, sharing his expertise in the kitchen with fans stuck in lockdown.
The segments have included how to cook the perfect mash potato, quick pasta, curry crab mornay and risotto.
