Co-op launches range of plant-based products as it aims to cash in on New Year’s resolution vegans

Vegan trend: The new Gro brand will be launched in up to 6,000 Co-op and independent stores this month

The Co-op is aiming to cash in on customers making New Year’s resolutions to go vegan, by launching a range of plant- based products.

The supermarket chain’s new Gro brand, which is free from animal products such as meat, dairy and eggs, will be launched in up to 6,000 Co-op and independent stores this month.

It will include a vegan ‘steak bake’ and a Kashmiri cauliflower pizza, while all of the Co-op’s beer and cider range will become vegan this year.

The supermarket is aiming to capitalise on ‘Veganuary’, which entails following a vegan lifestyle for the whole of January.
