‘Get back to flopping!’ Iggy Azalea is trolled online after announcing that she’s started recording her next album

Iggy Azalea recently announced that she’s started recording her third studio album.

And it looks like the announcement has brought out some trolls, with the rapper getting called a ‘flop’ on Twitter over the weekend.

On Saturday, a troll told the 29-year-old rapper to ‘get back to flopping’.

‘Get back to flopping!’ Iggy Azalea has been trolled online since announcing plans to return to music with a new album

The troll, who was a fan of Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Lady Gaga, appeared to be referring to Iggy’s recent singles and albums, all of which have failed to light up the charts.

Iggy acknowledged the tweet by responding with a Spongebob Squarepants meme.

Earlier this week, the Atlanta-based rapper confirmed on Twitter that she’s currently in Los Angeles working on her third studio album.

It’ll be her first release since December’s Wicked Lips EP, which failed to chart in both Australia and America.

The former chart-topper released her sophomore album, In My Defense, last July.

While the disc spawned a minor hit with Sally Walker, sales overall were underwhelming.

Last year, the rapper revealed on Twitter that she was feeling ‘defeated’ after learning that her LP had debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200.

‘Woke up today feeling a little defeated, ending the day feeling motivated,’ she began.

‘I think sometimes I feel defeated because I look at the chart and see how much streaming impacts it, and think, “How can I win when I’m up against THAT?”‘ she added.

News of Iggy’s musical comeback comes amid unconfirmed that she welcomed a baby boy with her rapper Playboi ‘Jordan Carter’ Carti, 23, in secret.

On May 1st, DJ Akademiks told his 2.5 million Instagram followers that he’d heard word that they had welcomed a baby, writing: ‘Congrats to Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti on the birth [of] their son this weekend.’

He added in his own caption, ‘Talked to some ppl…. allegedly this is true. Congrats to #playboicarti and #iggyazalea if it is.’

Neither Iggy nor her rapper beau have commented on the baby rumours.

The couple were first linked in the summer of 2018.

They had an on-and-off relationship in the late months of 2019, with a brief breakup in December, during which Azalea declared ‘I’m single’ in an Instagram post. This was followed by a rekindled romance.
