MasterChef’s Sarah Clare denies calling Laura Sharrad a ‘b***h’ under her breath – after tensions simmered during the ‘Black Box’ pressure test

MasterChef Australia fans slammed Laura Sharrad for how she appeared to ‘gloat’ about her success in Tuesday’s pressure test challenge.

And a secret rivalry on the show was believed to have been uncovered when footage seemingly emerged of eliminated star Sarah Clare calling Laura a ‘b**ch’ on set.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Sarah said the incident was a complete misunderstanding and something she would never say to her rival.

In the short moment on screen, Sarah was left visibly frustrated after Laura visited her bench to see what errors she made with her ‘Black Box’ dessert.

On Thursday, Pedestrian ran a story that suggested Sarah had blurted out ‘b**ch’ shortly after the encounter.

‘It definitely didn’t happen, I’m pretty sure I said “eek” and it was just that I’d left an element off, nothing to do with Loz,’ clarified to Daily Mail Australia.

‘Also I don’t use that word as it is only aimed at women and if you ask anyone I know I hate it!’ Sarah added.

MasterChef Australia fans had already turned on Laura during Tuesday night’s episode.

They weren’t pleased by the way she bombarded a visibly upset Sarah Tiong, and accused the star of ‘gloating’ about her success in the ‘black box’ challenge.

‘Sarah! Tiong! Come on… what’s wrong? What’s wrong? Did you get everything in? What did you miss? What did you miss? What did you miss?’ quizzed Laura.

As Sarah politely asked for a second to compose herself, Laura abruptly turned her attention to other contestants, and the exchange infuriated viewers at home.

‘Laura, read the situation. Sarah T needed space and doesn’t need you repeating the same question that’s doing nothing but rubbing in her face that this wasn’t her best cook,’ tweeted one viewer after the scene aired.

‘Laura’s gloating little dance at the end of the cook, where she asked everyone if they’d finished and delighted in their stress was just ugh,’ posted a second fan.

‘How annoying was it when Laura was all like, “What’d you miss?” to Sarah T. Let her have a moment please,’ vented a third person.

Others simply told Laura that ‘the attention can’t always be on you’.

The awkward moment occurred at the end of the ‘black box’ challenge.

While Laura was proud of her creation, Sarah ran out of time and was left disappointed, tearing up and fearful of her place in the competition.

As Laura hugged Sarah and quizzed her about what went wrong, the emotional contestant responded: ‘Can I just have a second?’

‘Okay, I’m going to hug everybody else,’ replied Laura, quickly walking away.
