Cheap, fast and easy to make, Facebook groups have been filling up with photos of homemade loaves and tricks for making them with a handful of pantry ingredients for anyone still deprived of essentials in the aftermath of rampant panic buying.

Meanwhile, Rose, 40, recently revealed what life has been like living in the American ‘epicentre’ of the outbreak.

‘It’s obviously strange being in New York, which is the epicentre. But we’re good. We’ve been safe and well, knock on wood,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

She added: ‘Every night you get on your balcony and everybody bangs their pots and pans for a few minutes, it’s very emotional.’

New Yorkers created the kitchenware drum-line to show their appreciation for healthcare workers.

Rose and her partner Bobby Cannavale recently starred in a retelling of the Greek tragedy Medea at the Harvey Theater of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, but they finished their run before the pandemic hit.

Earlier this month, Rose performed in a live-streamed reading of the play Gruesome Playground Injuries alongside Sydney-based Ewen Leslie, in hopes of scratching her live performance itch.

Bobby recently celebrated turning 50 in quarantine earlier this month.

Rose posted a throwback photo of the couple on Instagram to mark the occasion.

‘Happy birthday handsome,’ she captioned the image.

The Spy actress also shared a sweet photo of one of Bobby’s birthday presents, a frosted heart-shaped treat covered in mini-chocolate chips and decorated with delicate flowers.

The treat was accompanied by a scribbled drawing from their sons, reading: ‘Happy Birthday Dada!!’
