Hugh Jackman recently revealed his fears for his children as the actor and his family continue to reside in New York – America’s coronavirus epicentre.

And the Australian star appeared somewhat downcast as he arrived home to his Big Apple apartment on Monday, alongside his very grown up son Oscar, 19.

The 51-year-old star wore a mask as they strolled around in the sunshine, but his teenage boy did not.

Father and son wore coordinating outfits – both dressed in jeans, navy tops and blue shoes.

Meanwhile, the matriarch of the family, actress Deborra-Lee Furness, was spotted getting around town on her scooter.

The 64-year-old was sporty in a pair of black leggings, a black sweater and a pair of pink sneakers as she zipped around.

Hugh has been self-isolating in New York with his wife and their two children during the  pandemic.

And while he appears to have adjusted to life under lockdown, the Wolverine star recently revealed his growing concerns for his son Oscar and daughter Ava, 14.

Speaking to WHO Magazine, he said: ‘I mainly worry for my kids right now. I’m not scared for myself.’

‘I am worried about them, their mental state, school, not being around friends and the disruption,’ he added.

Hugh compared NYC to a ‘post-apocalyptic movie’, explaining that the once-bustling city was ‘tranquil and bizarrely empty’.

The Greatest Showman star is trying to keep up a regular routine by meditating daily as he takes six months off work.

He is also using his home as a makeshift theatre while rehearsing for his upcoming return to Broadway.

Hugh also told the publication he was talking to his neighbours more while walking his dogs around the streets of New York.

‘People seem to have more time, and the optimist in me hopes that’ll continue, and there’ll be a shared sense of community when it’s over,’ he said.

It comes after Hugh and Deborra-lee, 64, recently urged their fans to stay at home to protect others amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple shared a video to Instagram last month from their NYC apartment.

‘Hi there! We stay home for all of our family, and for all the people working in essential services. All the doctors and healthcare workers,’ Deborra-lee said.
