‘I loved every second of it’: AFL WAG Rebecca Judd loses it over television drama she calls ‘real’ and ’emotional’

It’s the steamy new Irish series taking streaming platform Stan by storm.

And on Sunday, footy WAG Rebecca Judd revealed she’s making the most of her time in self-isolation binge watching, Normal People.

Sharing a photo of the show’s main characters, Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal) to her Instagram stories, Bec, 37, revealed it was her new favourite television series.

‘I loved every second of Normal People, and related to it on so many levels,’ she wrote underneath the photo.

‘From my high school years to my early 20s. So real. So authentic. So emotional.’

Bec went on to tell her followers she was overwhelmed with the performance of its leading stars.

‘Daisy and Paul possibly delivered the finest acting I have ever seen,’ she wrote.

This isn’t the first time the mother-of-four has spoke out about her love for the series.

Speaking on her radio show 3pm Pick Up last week, Bec recalled one particular scene from the show that all footballers’ wives can relate to.

‘He’s a star, and she went and watched him in the footy game and then that’s where it happened,’ she said, describing the moment the characters’ love affair began.

The fact that Gaelic football shares similarities with AFL was not lost on Rebecca, who is married to retired Carlton and West Coast Eagles captain Chris Judd.

‘Girl! She just wanted to be a WAG! I get it. I get it. It’s impressive,’ Rebecca laughed.

Her co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond agreed and said ‘you could see it’ in Marianne’s eyes the moment she saw Connell on the field.

Normal People is available to stream on Stan.
