England star John Stones spoken to by police over spying claims

Footballer John Stones was visited by police after he was accused of using CCTV to spy on his former girlfriend, it has been claimed.

The England star’s former partner Millie Savage, 25, said she was left ‘feeling vulnerable’ after finding out that she may be being watched on CCTV at the couple’s old £6million home.

She received text messages that claim to show the Man City centre-back had been able to use cameras at the house via the internet.

Feeling that she was being monitored, Millie contacted Cheshire Police.

‘Millie was on her own and feared she was being watched. It left her feeling vulnerable,’ a source told The Sun

‘John moved out when they split but was still able to log in to the cameras at the house via the internet.

‘Millie received texts which showed that John was aware of the comings and goings from the property. She felt as if she was being monitored and was obviously anxious.’

Police then visited Stones at the end of last month and gave him some ‘advice’, the publication reported.

However, the officers were satisfied that no offence had been committed, and no further action was taken.

They also said Millie, who shared a three-year-old daughter with Stones, could break the coronavirus lockdown to move in with her parents.

The couple split up in late 2018 after 11 years together, with Stones leaving the home, which he owns outright, and moving into a flat.

It is reported he told Millie that he would be returning to the house at some point and she would have to find somewhere else to live.

They separated shortly after the 2018 World Cup – dubbed the Summer of Love – where Ms Savage travelled to Russia to support her then-boyfriend.

But their relationship had been mired with cheating allegations when Stones was supposedly found to have been involved in a two-month affair.

At the time, family friends told MailOnline the break-up left the Savage family heartbroken.

But Stones was rumoured to have moved on quickly to date Manchester socialite Olivia Naylor, 30, who he was understood to have had an immediate spark with.

Stones has since come under fire for ‘turfing out’ his ex-girlfriend and daughter from their mansion in Cheshire to make way for his new love.

A source told MailOnline: ‘John is keen to move back into his own home. It was subsequently then Millie’s decision to move out and as a result the timeframe for that has been mutually agreed between the pair of them.

‘There is no question of John reneging on his commitments.

‘He has provided Millie with a large and luxury budget, and a number of options to purchase a new property for herself.

‘It may be that she initially rents a house while she assesses her options. John is an incredible father and his first priority will always be ensuring the best possible care and life for his daughter.’

But another source added: ‘She seems cut up by the way he is behaving. It is like he’s forgotten himself and his roots.

‘Everything is falling in on her.’

Ms Savage was said to have been told by her lawyer that due to never being married to Stones, she has ‘few rights’.

The £50million-rated player’s form for both club and country nosedived in the months that followed his split from Millie.

After a gaffe-prone England performance in their 3-1 defeat by Holland in the Nations League semi-final last year, his place in the national squad is no longer guaranteed.

And Man City manager Pep Guardiola appears to be losing patience with him at club level after a series of injuries.
