Liam Gallagher’s fashion brand Pretty Green allegedly owes creditors £15.6 million and had losses of £17.5 million, it was reported on Saturday.

According to The Sun new documents filed with Companies House this week said 52 companies had made claims, worth more than £2.8 million, with the brand, while 274 other creditors were still to file their own claims worth over £12.7 million.

The publication claimed this means that some suppliers and freight companies that worked with the Oasis singer’s brand before it was shut down last year will not be paid, as there is ‘no cash left in the pot.’

Money problems: Liam Gallagher’s defunct fashion label Pretty Green ‘owes creditors over £15m and won’t be able to refund suppliers as there’s no cash left’, it was reported on Saturday

A source speaking to The Sun claimed: ‘This is devastating news for a number of businesses, especially in the current climate. There’s just no cash left in the pot to pay everyone.

‘Former staff and some lenders will get their cash back from Pretty Green Ltd, but suppliers and freight companies will be singing for their supper.

‘If they can get any cash back it will still leave them well down, in many cases to the tune of six figures.’

MailOnline have contacted Liam’s representatives for comment.

Founded in 2009, the business was bought out by JD Sports after it fell into administration in March 2019.

The purchase led to the closure of 11 shops and 33 concessions in House Of Fraser department stores, costing 95 jobs.

At the time, High Street retailer JD Sports retained Pretty Green’s flagship store in Manchester, as well as its online and wholesale business, securing 72 jobs.

The brand was named after a record by The Jam and its aim is to ‘provide simple, classic clothing with a modern twist’.

In 2008 it launched the Black Label collection which was inspired by music legends of the mid to late 60s ‘Peacock Revolution’.

In recent years the brand developed various clothing ranges which paid homage to Liverpool band the Beatles and guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
