The confronting moment Karl Stefanovic accidentally ‘Sharon Stones’ his 15-year-old daughter Ava

Karl Stefanovic may be a proud father to his four children.

But on Friday, the Today show star said that he left his daughter Ava, 15, ‘scarred for life’ after accidentally doing a ‘Sharon Stone’ during a live Instagram video with co-star Brooke Boney. 

The 45-year-old was wearing a grey robe, hair towel and ugg boots while at his waterfront Sydney home, when Ava interrupted the chat.

‘That’s my daughter Ava,’ Karl said, as Ava went up to him. 

She then asked him what her brother Jackson’s birth date was, before walking away. 

Karl then said to Brooke that he accidentally ‘did a Sharon Stone.’   

‘I think my daughter, she came out at the wrong time when I was doing a Sharon Stone with my dressing gown on and she’s disappeared,’ he said. 

He then joked that she’s ‘scarred for life.’ 

Brooke then told him that Ava disappeared to ‘wash her eyes.’

Sharon Stone’s leg-crossing scene in hit 1992 movie, Basic Instinct, is one of the most iconic in modern movie history.

The famous interrogation scene in Basic Instinct saw Sharon’s character Catherine Tramell quizzed by police including Michael Douglas.

Amid the bombardment of questions, Catherine distracts them when she uncrosses the recrosses her legs, leaving the men flustered seeing as she was underwear-free at the time.

The scene was highly controversial at the time, and now has gone down as one of the most infamous in movie history. 

Karl meanwhile, shares children Ava, Jackson, 20, and River, 12, with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.

He welcomed newborn daughter Harper May with new wife Jasmine Yarbrough, 35, earlier this month.
