Hailey Bieber reveals she began developing adult acne after going on birth control: ‘The smallest little thing feels… like the end of the world’
She has naturally clear and glowing skin, but even Hailey Bieber has had to grapple with unflattering pimples.
The model, 23, revealed she started developing adult acne this last year after going on birth control.
Hailey opened up about her skincare issues while giving her husband Justin Bieber a facial on the latest episode of their Facebook series, The Biebers On Watch.

For Hailey, who ordinarily has a clear complexion, seeing the acne develop felt like ‘the end of the world.’
Hailey had never been on birth control before, and began noticing a difference on her face after getting an IUD.
‘Well actually within the last year, I started getting a little bit of onset adult acne too from my IUD because I’d never been on birth control before so my hormones were a little out of balance,’ she told Justin during his pamper session.
‘But for me, and my spot was on my forehead, so from here it would be like a little pattern going here and then up and up,’ she said, tracing a line across her forehead to demonstrate.

‘And I hid it really well, exactly like you said, because when you’re used to having good skin, the smallest little thing feels bad, like the end of the world. So I have these two, not only that but they hurt too, they were like painful and deep.’
Eventually, Hailey was able to sort out her skincare problems with Spironolactone, a medication used to treat acne in women.
‘And I never experienced acne like that or pimples like that before. Obviously I was getting it figured out but luckily for me I was able to go on what you call Spironolactone.’

The Biebers have been on a mission to improve Justin’s skin during quarantine.
During a recent episode of their watch series, Hailey said she had been caring for her husband’s skin using a variety of her own products.
‘Justin has really, really, really nice skin naturally and over the last two years, he has been struggling with, like, adult onset acne breakout,’ Hailey said.

‘And so, you know, I’m super into skincare, especially because we’ve had a lot of time in this quarantine, I told him that by the time we exit this quarantine, he is going to have glowing, perfect skin, and we are going to work on that,’ she said.
Justin and Hailey are currently quarantining together in Canada.
The couple first tied the knot in a New York courthouse in 2018, followed by a more lavish ceremony in October 2019.
