Simon Cowell shares sweet snap in a recording booth with son Eric, six, as he reveals they will be starring in the animated Scooby Doo film together

Simon Cowell has shared an adorable photo of himself and son Eric as they record their parts for the new animated Scooby Doo film together

The music mogul, 61, is slated to play himself in the children’s film while Eric is listed to voice the character of ben in the star-studded movie, Scoob!

Simon also shared a still which shows an animated version of himself sat around a table with the show’s main characters; Velma, Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and Scooby.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed that the film is an origin tale about how the gang all meet, which is something that hasn’t been revealed before in the franchise. 

In the caption, Simon discussed his pride at working with his little boy, and said: ‘I watched Scooby Doo as a kid and now I’m thrilled to be watching it again with my son Eric. 

‘So when we got asked to be in the new Scooby Doo movie ‘@SCOOB!’, it was the quickest yes I’ve ever said.

‘We never really got to find out how Scooby and Shaggy met the rest of the gang and now we do.

‘It’s brilliant and what’s more brilliant is that you will be able to watch it at home on May 15.’

The film also features Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, and Amanda Seyfried and was set to premiere in cinemas across the UK on May 15.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the film is being launched on digital services. 

Mark will play the role of Blue Falcon in the film, while Zac plays Fred and Amanda will voice Daphne.  

Comedian Frank Welker will voice Scooby-Doo while Will Forte appears as Shaggy Rogers.
