Amanda Kloots says her husband, 41-year-old Broadway actor Nick Cordero, has woken up after being placed in a medically induced coma several weeks ago when suffering from COVID-19.
The 38-year-old fitness pro took to social media to share a video where she was holding her baby in her arms as she beamed. The blonde was overjoyed as she broke the news to her growing fans.
‘Guys we might have to change our hashtag…’ said the dancer. ‘Nick, dada, is awake! Yeah,’ she added, clearly thrilled.

She was holding their son Elvis, who will turn age one this summer, as she wore a blue top and pendant necklace with her hair back.
This comes after she said he had taken a big step forward.
‘We just got another update on Nick from the hospital and the doctor has confirmed that Nick is starting to follow commands,’ she said on Instagram Stories Monday.
Kloots added that the progress mark is a ‘huge, big, huge deal’ as it means the Tony-nominated actor, 41, ‘is trying, which is awesome.’
She said that she and Cordero’s friends and family were happy about the day’s developments.

‘We did a big cheer … we’ve been waiting for at least, you know, this little momentum, and it’s just so exciting,’ she said.
She said the Hamilton, Canada native, who remains on a ventilator in his ongoing health battle, remains dealing with lung complications in his brave battle against the novel virus.
‘We are still concerned about a couple of things: he still has a lot of infection in his lungs that they are clearing out every single day,’ said Kloots, who has been updating fans and friends on her spouse’s status via social media. ‘It is a lot that is still in his lungs and due to the damage of his lungs [from] COVID.’

Kloots said that the ‘big goals’ for Cordero – whose right leg was amputated amid the health crisis – ‘would be to move him off dialysis and move him off ventilators.’
She said that while those are ‘long-term’ goals, the idea ‘that the doctor witnessed him trying to follow commands’ marks ‘the best news ever.’
The Bullets Over Broadway star had been dealing with pneumonia, Kloots said last month, as the performer initially tested negative for coronavirus, then tested positive in a later test.
