MasterChef Australia fans call for YouTube comedian Nat’s What I Reckon to join the cast

Fans are begging Channel 10 to cast a very unlikely contestant on the next season of MasterChef Australia – YouTube comedian Nat’s What I Reckon. 

The tattooed content creator, whose videos have clocked up millions of views online, has been keeping fans entertained during COVID-19 lockdown with hilarious cooking tutorials. 

Thanks to his unique brand of dry comedy and extensive use of swear-words, Nat’s cooking show quickly became a viral success.

Many fans now believe that Nat could be the key to boosting MasterChef’s ratings.

‘Can you please do a sesh on MasterChef? I can’t stand that show but you doing your thing would make it worthwhile. Keep up the good work man,’ one Facebook fan wrote on Nat’s page. 

‘I don’t know about everyone else, but I feel the new season of MasterChef needs you,’ another agreed.  

Other fans even suggested that Nat join Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen as a judge on the show. 

‘You should be one of the judges on MasterChef, be way better watching,’ one person wrote, on Facebook, while another fan commented: ‘Why are you not on MasterChef? As a judge.’ 

Nat, who learned to cook from his professional chef father, told The Guardian last month that he’s flattered yet surprised by the wide-spread popularity of his cooking videos.  

‘Sometimes parents remake my videos with their kids and send them to me. It’s pretty unreal that kids are digging it. I’m not going to judge your parenting,’ he joked. 

Nat explained that he hopes to inspire people to switch from eating packaged food to cooking home-made meals during the pandemic.  

‘There’s a fresh food section in the supermarket that hasn’t been touched and yet empty shelves of pasta sauce,’ he said of the recent wave of panic-buying.

 ‘You’re f**king stuck at home – what are you doing? Eat better.’
