Applegate, 48, spoke about how the intense scenes depend on the actresses digging deep inside themselves.

‘It’s something that’s coming from your own stuff,’ she explained.

She spoke about a scene she and Cardellini did set in a garage, recalling: ‘It was so intense, and we would run around the corner and they would say cut and then she and I would hold each other on the floor and sobbing… and then they’d be like, ‘let’s do the line now…’

Season 2 of Dead To Me picks up immediately where the first season left off.

It starts with Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellin) having to decide what to do with the body of Judy’s former fiance Steve (James Marsden) which is floating in Jen’s swimming pool after a shooting at the end of the season 1 finale.

And even as they try to cover up their crimes, Judy and Jen also manage to juggle parenting Jen’s two sons and holding down their jobs as a real-estate agent and an assisted-living staffer.

But as season 2 unfolds, the trailer suggests, it becomes clear that someone in their suburban neighborhood knows more than they should about what’s been going on and law enforcement is on their tails.
