‘Cant Channel Ten afford a few garden chairs?’ MasterChef fans blast the show for having contestants ‘awkwardly standing in the way’ while others compete in the kitchen
On Tuesday’s episode of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win, the contestants faced a pasta challenge.
But those who weren’t taking part stood awkwardly around the kitchen, with the show having done away with the usual gantry that allowed non-competing cooks to applaud from above.
As a result, the cooks were constantly having to part the sea of onlookers to get to things they needed.

And fans watching at home were less than enthused, with many complaining that the leftover contestants were obstructing the action.
One person Tweeted: ‘Urgh, it’s one of those weird ‘no gantry’ eliminations where the others stand in the way awkwardly’.
Another Tweeted: ‘So you mean to tell me that Channel 10 can set up three full kitchen benches in someones backyard but can’t rent out a couple of garden chairs for everyone else to sit? I’m so uncomfortable why is everyone standing’.
