While production on The Block has been suspended due to coronavirus, host Scott Cam has been working on a renovation of his own.

The 57-year-old Channel Nine host looked surprisingly buff as he showcased his new frame and slimmer waistline on Instagram last week. 

Sharing a photo of himself sitting on a bench press bench in workout gear, the Gold Logie winner revealed: ‘Training hard in the cave gym during isolation.’

‘Trying to counteract my beer intake,’ he joked.

And the results speak for themselves, with Scott’s followers quick to praise him.

‘Damn, what a muscle body!’ one fan wrote, while another commented: ‘Scotty Cam is getting ripped.’

One recent post showed him cutting up curried sausages, which he was serving up with coconut milk and parsley.

Another showed him grilling healthy flathead fish.

‘Getting some jobs done around the house, if you wanna do the same head to @mitre10, they will have all the gear you need,’ he wrote in the caption.

‘Finished the rubber matting in the cave gym today for the family isolation exercise.’

When he’s not exercising in his ‘cave gym’, Scott has been embarking on long walks with his family.

The celebrity carpenter jokingly told Daily Mail Australia in 2014 that he had ‘woken up the size of a doona’ the day he turned 40.

‘I’ve tried to stay fit and healthy, I don’t mind a beer,’ he said.

‘I’m actually pretty healthy [on set of The Block]. It’s probably because I haven’t got any chips or biscuits in the cupboard like we do at home. 

‘As you get old the metabolism slows down and you struggle to keep the weight off.’
