How Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s VERY trendy baby name is the hottest moniker for celebrity offspring right now… as the happy couple welcome their first child
Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine Yarbrough welcomed their daughter, Harper May on Friday.
And while her gorgeous name might sound slightly old-fashioned, it’s actually very on-trend in celebrity circles.
A whole host of local and international stars have chosen to use the charming middle name recently for their own bundles of joy.

The Bachelor’s Matty ‘J’ Johnson and Laura Byrne had their first child together, Marlie Mae in June.
Matty later revealed on his podcast The Babble with Nat Bass and Matty J, that they choose the elegant middle name after Laura’s grandmother.
Married At First Sight star Davina Rankin gave birth to her daughter Mila-Mae in November.

Doting father Karl told Daily Mail Australia last month that while he and Jasmine had discussed names, they were waiting for their tiny tot to arrive before they made a final decision.

‘The name is something very private for us and something we’re looking forward to seeing when she comes out.’
‘I think naming a child is one of the most beautiful and precious things you can do so we’re really looking forward to it.
‘We’ve zeroed in on about five different names and I think we’ve just got to see her then we’ll make the decision from there.’

Karl has three children with former wife Cassandra Thorburn: Jackson, 20, Ava, 15 and River, 13. Ava has her own ideas about what her sister should be called.
‘My daughter’s had all sorts of great suggestions and some of her suggestions are in the mix as well,’ Karl said.
‘We’re just going to see what colour hair and what colour eyes she has – whether or not the little girl’s got my ripping body. All those things will come into it.’
