Michael Clarke divides opinion after revealing he gives his daughter Kelsey Lee, four, multivitamins – as fans say a ‘well-rounded diet is enough’

Michael Clarke has divided opinion with his latest sponsored Instagram post, in which he revealed he gives his four-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee, multivitamins.

The retired Australian cricket captain, 39, shared a photo of himself organising the vitamins into a pill organiser.

‘Preparing my little girls weekly vitamins to keep her happy and healthy. Easier said than done,’ he captioned the post, which was an advertisement for Chemist Warehouse.

‘Fruit and sunshine is what she needs!’ Michael Clarke has divided opinion with his latest Instagram post, in which he revealed he gives his four-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee, vitamins

Although some fans praised Michael for giving his daughter supplements, others said it was unnecessary.

‘Do kids really need vitamins? I thought a well rounded diet was enough?’ one follower commented.

‘No need for such things just give them proper diet,’ another said. A third agreed: ‘Some fruit and sunshine is what the little one needs.’

A similar comment read: ‘All she needs is a healthy diet. Not sure giving her truckloads of vitamins from a sponsor would be advised from a GP.’

However, others defended him by saying a parent should be able to decide what is best for their own child.

‘Suddenly everyone is a physician that specialises in paediatric care. If Clarkie wants to give supplements to his daughter he should be able to without scrutiny,’ one fan wrote.

Another added: ‘You’re doing a fantastic job! Vitamins are essential especially with the lack of nutrition in our food. My kids take vitamins everyday it’s a personal choice. Keep on keeping on and all the best.’

The former cricketer and his wife of seven years quietly separated in September, but kept it a secret for five months.

The news came as a surprise to many, as Kyly had told Daily Mail Australia in January 2019: ‘We’re not, never were and never will be splitting.’

Following the break-up, Michael dated fashion designer Pip Edwards for several months but it’s believed they ended things in early April.
