Shocking moment Yodel driver lets himself into home of self-isolating family

This is the shocking moment a Yodel driver approaches a house and according to the homeowner lets himself into the abode of a self-isolating family to deliver a parcel before being chased away by the furious mother.

The footage shows the delivery man walking up to Charlotte McNeil’s home. She claims he then enters her house after ringing the doorbell.

The family, who live in Leeds, Yorkshire, is self isolating for 12 weeks because the six year old girl has asthma and is classified as high risk.

She yelled at him to clear out but claims that he just muttered excuses and snapped: ‘I have got 200 parcels to deliver.’

The mother yelled back: ‘Ok. But why the hell have you walked into my house?’

Footage captured on a doorbell cam shows the man storming off in a huff and shouting: ‘Just take your parcel and have a good day.’

The furious mother chased after him but he had already cleared off in his white van.

She is heard to say ‘I bet her was running’ as she stares down the empty street.

The ‘home invasion’ happened at 4.45pm on Wednesday as the man was making a delivery of toys which were birthday presents for Charlotte’s children.

Full time mum of five Charlotte, 34, from Headingley, Leeds, said her Ring doorcam started filming when the motion detector sensnd someone was in the front garden.

She said: ‘He pushed the bell, a second later he knocked and a second later he opened the door. We had no chance to get to the door.

‘I was downstairs with three of my children – two girls aged six and two and my five year old son. They were all fully naked.

‘He said something about being waiting outside for five minutes which I don’t believe he did. He said ‘I have got 200 parcels to deliver’.

‘Then he scurried out and I chased him and got his number plate.

‘I have tried to complain to Yodel but you can only contact them by email. So I am still waiting for them to come back with the driver’s name.

‘I have also rung the police. They ran his registration number but it came back just as courier and they need his name before they can do anything.’

She also claims the driver had also been wearing one protective glove while making his hundreds of calls.

She said: ‘ I’m more annoyed he walked in and that the kids were stood there naked. I should not even be opening the door to him under the rules.

‘ I’m not even bothered he threw my parcel when I said get the hell out.

‘The worst thing is he didn’t push the door open. He used the handle. My door was shut. He didn’t even give us chance to get to the door.’

She later said in a Facebook post shared with Yodel bosses: ‘**WARNING**

‘This Yodel delivery driver thought it was acceptable to just walk into my house to deliver parcels….. you can hear on the video me telling him to get out!

‘I have a *HIGH RISK* daughter and more to that my 3 children were right near the door naked after getting out the bath AND HE SAW THEM!!!!! *Share share share*

The footage has been shared on social media and caused outrage.

Thomas Cliffe commented: ‘To be fair you could probs take Yodel to court for this I reckon, entering property/invasion deliberately ignoring government guidelines.’

Charlotte replied: ‘I know. I can’t believe it happened.’

Mia Xara stormed: ‘You have to report it to Police, that’s home invasion, not following the governmental guide, etc. ‘You have enough evidence, plus yours + kids distress. Yodel may not act on it.’

There were also fears Charlotte and her kids may have been upset by what happened to which she replied:

‘Yeah we are fine I was in shock tbh then I started carrying on and ran after him ****’

A Yodel spokesperson said: ‘We expect our drivers behaviour to be of the highest standards and take such matters very seriously.

‘We are currently investigating this matter and are unable to comment further at this time.’
