She vowed to focus on her health and make ‘positive changes’ in 2020.

And Rebel Wilson hasn’t let the closure of gyms during the coronavirus pandemic stop her from achieving her goal.

The 40-year-old actress was spotted completing an intense boxing session with her trainer Jono Castano Acero, in a park in Sydney on Wednesday.

The Pitch perfect star cut a casual figure in a pair of black tights and matching black sweatshirt from Nike. 

She accessorised with a pair of purple Nike runners and protected her eyes from the sun with a square pair of sunglasses.

Rebel wore her long locks in a ponytail, which she covered in a black baseball cap.

She performed a series of exercises using a resistance band before completing a gruelling boxing class with Jono.

Earlier this year, Rebel announced that she was going to make her health a priority.

The actress shared a photo of herself running along the beach to Instagram and wrote: ‘Okay so for me 2020 is going to be called “The Year of Health”.’

She added: ‘So I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now.

‘And [I’m] trying to avoid the sugar and junk food, which is going to be hard after the holidays I’ve just had but I’m going to do it!’

Rebel has been working hard at the gym with her trainer Jono and he recently shared her daily workout routine.

During a typical week, Rebel works on high-intensity interval training, mobility, weights, resistance, technique and tempo, getting only one day a week for resting.

‘Rebel and I are just focusing on enjoying training and getting the body moving,’ he explained.

Jono also revealed his top tips to help people lose weight to Daily Mail Australia last month.

‘At a minimum, I preach to always get in 45 minutes daily. Whether that be a workout, a walk or something else that’s physical that you enjoy doing,’ Jono said.

He believes that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is the best form of exercise for weight loss.

‘What I do for most of my clients looking to shed some pounds is incorporating a mix of different exercises into their session. Short bursts of intense cardio combined with resistance training and weights is my special formula,’ he said.

‘It fires up the heart rate and calorie burn as well as builds lean muscle so your body continues to burn calories at a high rate throughout the day.’
