‘It’s the only thing she can cook!’ MasterChef viewers are growing weary of Laura Sharrad for not thinking outside the mystery box and cooking ANOTHER pasta dish

She said her reason to return to MasterChef: Back to Win was to learn new skills and pick up new techniques.

But on Wednesday, Laura Sharrad cracked out yet another pasta dish and left fans of Channel Ten’s revamped cooking show seriously unimpressed.

In the episode, the remaining contestants were given a ‘mystery box’ of four ingredients to contend with. In Laura’s case, they ended up being apples, potatoes mint and peas.

After revealing she set her sights on whipping up a tasty gnocchi, the 24-year-old was roasted by viewers on Twitter.

One fan wrote: ‘Laura’s the reason there’s not a single bag of pasta left in Coles. It’s the only thing she can cook.’

A second joked: ‘Three certainties in life. Death, taxes, and Laura will cook pasta.’

‘I’ve not watched this episode but already know the pasta dish is Laura’s,’ joked another fan, presumably just tuning in to judging.

While another fan quipped: ‘MasterChef has the stability we need in 2020. Every episode we will see: 1. Laura making pasta. 2. Poh running it down to the wire. 3. Unnecessary use of the hibachi grill.’

It’s not the first time Laura has been called out by the cooking competition’s loyal fans.

On Tuesday, she had eyes rolling after she decided to make ravioli doppio, a two-filling pasta, with one side filled with ricotta and Warrigal greens, and the other side filled with braised kangaroo tail.

Laura has made no secret of the fact that pasta is her speciality. It’s not surprising, she runs pasta restaurant, Nido Bar and Pasta, with her husband, Max, in Adelaide.

‘This is what I do. This is my heritage,’ she said during Tuesday’s episode.

‘I think this dish is showing a lot of technique, a lot of skill using ingredients that I love using, both Italian and Indigenous.
