Mark Wahlberg dons little more than an apron in surprise Ellen cameo with Melissa McCarthy after star said she dreamed action star moved in with her family

Mark Wahlberg donned only an apron in a cameo on Tuesday’s editor of Ellen in which he surprised Melissa McCarthy, who has said that she’d dreamed of the actor staying in her family home.

McCarthy, 49, recalled her dream – which spanned a six hours – as she appeared on the show alongside husband Ben Falcone, 46, saying that Wahlberg was helpful with chores and that she always addressed him by his full name.

‘I woke up and was like, “Is Mark Wahlberg downstairs? Because I think he’s in the guest room,”‘ the Bridesmaids actress said, jokingly adding, ‘He’s a great roommate – he’s tidy, he’s helpful.’

The Kitchen star said she checked the family guest room just in case.

‘I guess it just came completely out of the blue,’ she said of the dream. Falcone noted he and their children had recently watched Wahlberg’s 2010 action comedy with Will Ferrell, The Other Guys.

The 48-year-old star of films like The Fighter and Boogie Nights then appeared onscreen in video conference, showing off his bulky physique in only an apron.

Ellen asked the Oscar-nominated actor, ‘Hey Mark, how good are you with a vacuum cleaner?’

‘Hey I just happened to be vacuuming now, how’s it going? he responded, ‘I’m just in my robe doing all of my daily duties here, whatever is required around the house.

He said of the apron, ‘It’s more comfortable than it appears,’ adding that he was thinking of launching a line.

Falcone said, ‘That apron was everything that I didn’t want it to be,’ to which Ellen said, ‘It was quite something.’
