Police officers have been focused on enforcing Britain’s lockdown rules.

That is until this pair of geese decided to take their newly hatched goslings for a walk along a busy road.

The six goslings are surrounded by their parents, as well as a squad car and a force motorbike.

A lorry and a red car can be seen queuing behind the convoy as the road is completely blocked off.

The officer from Horndean, who tweeted the dramatic encounter,commented: ‘It’s not all about crime you know.’

It is unknown how long it took officers to clear the birds from the road.

Twitter users flooded into the comments to crack bird puns, and congratulate the geese for staying to the correct side of the road.

One said: ‘Eggscorted to safety, that’s quackers.’

Another added: ‘Of course! Taking the young ones on a field trip for an important survival lesson.’

One wrote: ‘You do realise they are going to expect this from now on.’
