Dr. Anthony Fauci praises Brad Pitt for impersonating him on SNL: ‘He did a great job’

Just two days after Brad Pitt made a surprise appearance during the cold open of Saturday Night Live’s latest At Home edition as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the real doctor has responded.

Fauci, 79, conducted a video conferencing interview with Un Nuevo Dia, where he was largely asked about the spread of COVID-19, but he also added that Pitt, ‘did a great job.’

Fauci jokingly told CNN in an interview earlier this month that he would like Brad Pitt to play him in a Saturday Night Live sketch, and SNL made it happen.

‘I think he did great. I mean, I’m a great fan of Brad Pitt and that’s the reason why when people ask me who I would like to play me I mention Brad Pitt,’ Fauci began.

‘He’s one of my favorite actors. I think he did a great job,’ Fauci added.

The SNL cold open featured Pitt as Fauci, as he tried to explain what President Trump was really trying to say in clips from actual speeches Trump has given lately.

The President claimed in one of his speeches that a vaccine would be ready ‘relatively soon, which Fauci said was an ‘interesting term.

‘Relatively to the entire history of Earth? Yeah, that vaccine is gonna come real fast. But if you were to tell a friend you’d be there relatively soon, and then showed up a year and a half later, you’d be relatively pissed off,’ he joked.

The cold open featured a number of other questionable things the President has said, as Fauci tries to respond, but fans got quite the surprise when, at the end of the bit, Pitt took off his wig and glasses to thank the real Fauci and all of the healthcare workers for their tireless efforts through this crisis.

‘I think he showed that he is really a class guy when at the end he took off his hair and thanked me and all of the health care workers. So, not only is he a really great actor but he is actually a classy person,’ Fauci added.

When asked if the cold open accurately reflected his true feelings, the doctor chuckled and admitted it was true.

‘Everything he said on SNL is what’s going on. He did a pretty good job of putting everything together,’ Fauci said.
