‘I feel so fortunate’: The Project’s Carrie Bickmore says she ‘feels lucky’ to have a job during the coronavirus pandemic

The Project’s co-host Carrie Bickmore has spoken candidly about working amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 39-year-old said she ‘feels lucky’ to have a job as thousands of Australians suffer from unemployment as cafes, pubs, and shops across the country are forced to close.

‘I feel so fortunate I have a job and to have this opportunity to unpack all of this because believe me, I’m just as confused by it all,’ she told TV Week.

Due to social distancing restrictions, Carrie and her co-hosts Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar have to sit two metres apart during filming and they also must interview their guests via video.

She said that even though it can be challenging, it’s worth it because the show is an outlet for people to laugh.

‘I’ve had so many messages from people saying it’s a comfort having us on their screens each night,’ she said.

This comes after Carrie revealed she isn’t ‘losing her mind’ about beauticians being shut down.

Most beauty salons and businesses were forced to stop providing their services in March amid growing coronavirus concerns.

‘Currently, attending to my bikini line is the least of my worries, but my girlfriend lost her mind when beauticians shut up shop,’ the TV and radio personality told Stellar.
