MAFS’ Mikey Pembroke talks his body transformation and says he exercises for mental health

He recently made headlines for his incredible body transformation. 

And Married At First Sight star Mikey Pembroke has said that he prioritises fitness to keep on top of his mental health. 

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia this week, the 29-year-old operations manager said he sometimes struggles with his ‘head and body,’ but tries to be realistic with his goals. 

‘I like everyone else struggles with my head and body, always want to improve and strive for more, I know it’s important to be realistic and encourage others to do the same,’ Mikey said. 

The reality TV star said staying fit and healthy is crucial. 

‘It’s really the most important thing to me other than family – it is the focus of my own mental health.’

Mikey is set to host The Virtual Playground’s Lift Your Mood launch party on Zoom on Friday evening, which will see participants dress up in their best 80’s gear for a fun live workout in lockdown.

It’s a record attempt to run the biggest fancy dress workout.

It will feature an aerobics warm up and giveaways, with the likes of Home and Away star Olivia Deeble also getting involved. 

Mikey said he was getting involved because the lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic is ‘obviously stressful for the whole country’ and everyone ‘needs to smile.’

‘The country needs to smile and mental health should be a huge focus in tough times,’ he said. 

He rose to fame on Married At First Sight earlier this year, when he ‘married’ Natasha Spencer.
