MasterChef’s Poh Ling Yeow reveals the truth behind rumours she has a ‘crush’ on Gordon Ramsay after saying it was her ‘dream to be yelled at’ by the celebrity UK chef

MasterChef star Poh Ling Yeow has set the record straight about rumours she is secretly crushing on the show’s guest judge, Gordon Ramsay.

Speaking to Woman’s Day magazine on Monday, the 47-year-old refuted claims she was starry-eyed for the superstar chef.

‘No Gordon crush,’ Poh told the publication.

The fan favourite from the series insisted she merely had ‘professional admiration’ British culinary star.

”[It’s] the thought that even when you’re getting yelled at by Gordon, you must be doing something right to be in the same room as him,’ she explained.

Poh raised eyebrows with fans last week, when she said it was her ‘dream’ to be ‘yelled at’ by the celebrity chef on the show.

‘It’s always been a dream of mine to be yelled at by Gordon at some point in my life. Maybe,’ she laughed.

The comment set off a slew of reaction from like-minded fans, who agreed with the MasterChef hopeful.

‘Poh: It’s been a dream of mine to get yelled at by Gordon. Me too, sis. Me too,’ wrote one fan on Twitter.

Added another: ‘Poh wanting to get yelled at by Gordon Ramsay is all of us, tbh [to be honest].’

‘Poh has always wanted to be yelled at by Gordon Ramsay. Who’s writing the erotic fanfic of this?’ they commented.

Others thought Poh’s admiration of Gordon was mutual, after the hard-to-please chef heaped praise on her during last week’s premiere episode.

The comments were of course in jest, as Poh is happily married to Jono Bennett, an aspiring actor eight years her junior, who was working on MasterChef when they met.

Poh was previously married to Matt Phipps in 1990, when they were both practicing Mormons.

But when they chose to get divorced nine years later, Matt went on to marry her best friend of 20 years – Sarah Rich.

In an extraordinary twist, the two couples then went into business together, teaming up to open their own café in Adelaide called Jamface.

MasterChef: Back To Win continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel 10
