She rose to fame as Dr. Cristina Yang on long-running medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy between 2005 and 2014.

But on Sunday, Canadian actress Sandra Oh admitted that she has never watched a single episode of the popular series, despite starring on it for a decade.

‘You know what? I’ve never watched the show, even when I was playing in it,’ the 48-year-old star told Sydney Morning Herald.

Sandra continued: ‘It was too close to me and I had to have some distance from it, especially since I have a hard time seeing myself on the screen.’

Sandra picked up multiple gongs for her breakout role in the series, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2005.

Sandra, who now stars as a MI6 agent Eve Polastri in BBC hit show Killing Eve, says she’s glad that Grey’s Anatomy was still going strong.

When asked if would consider returning to the role, she said: ‘I don’t know if people will ever stop asking me that… What I’m learning is that it tells me Cristina is still a part of that world.’

Last week the actress revealed that her new series Killing Eve will be fast-tracked, airing two weeks early as a special gift for fans battling COVID-19 boredom. 

Speaking to Watch magazine, she said: ‘Particularly right now, this month in North America, and I am sure for you guys as well, is a really tough time’.

‘So, if we can throw out some extra fun and devilish sunshine then I am really happy that we can provide that,’ the Princess Diaries star added. 

The new series begins six months on, with Villanelle apparently retired from the game, living in Barcelona and about to marry for the first time. 

Season one of Killing Eve can be watched on Stan, while season two can be streamed on ABC iview.
